2026 PROJECT UPDATES

HCC Named Apparent Low Bidder on Major I-43 Reconstruction Project

2026 is already bringing new opportunities for HCC, with early momentum building across upcoming work. HCC has been named the apparent low bidder on a Wisconsin Department of Transportation project along the I-43 corridor in Waukesha County, positioning the company for a strong start to the year.

The project includes pavement replacement along I-43 between WIS 83 and WIS 164, along with reconstruction of the I-43 and WIS 164 interchange. WisDOT’s recommended design features a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI), intended to improve traffic flow and safety.

Additional scope elements include improvements to the Big Bend Park and Ride, guardrail replacement, culvert repair and cleaning, drainage improvements, updated signing and pavement markings, and structural repairs to several bridges along the corridor. Construction is scheduled to run from Spring 2026 through Fall 2027, pending final award.

Being named apparent low bidder reflects HCC’s continued commitment to delivering complex infrastructure projects efficiently and competitively. As the bid review process continues, this project represents a strong opportunity as HCC moves into the year ahead.
