Mid-season check in with chris goss

Hey, Hoffman!,

This year has been a success. We are running well ahead of last year through the first six months. Despite the weather of all the seasons, we’ve completed good work every month this year. We’ve dealt with extreme cold, snow, lots of rain, and some sunshine. Your dedication to showing up to SAFELY get it done no matter the weather is greatly appreciated – “Our Company Is Our People!”

As we move into the summer, we are seeing hot temperatures and heat indexes in the weather forecasts. Take care of our people. Watch for signs of heat fatigue in yourself and our teammates
so you can help address them. Keep the crews stocked with plenty of water or electrolyte drinks each day.

As we celebrate Independence Day and USA’s 250th anniversary, we wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day. Thank you for your hard work and the sacrifice that comes with making this team successful! Now on to the second half of the year.

BDW Half time celebration

This month, HCC took part in a “Half Time” celebration event, marking the halfway point in the Beaver Dam project and recognizing the progress made so far. Each morning, a major trade partner shared a message with crews, with Hoffman choosing to focus on culture and the importance of finishing strong together. Leadership from each company also connected with their teams to celebrate the milestone and encourage continued momentum through the second half of the project. Hoffman provided lunch for the crews and direct trade partners, including Capitol and GSI.

The celebration also recognized an outstanding SAFETY achievement: 1.5 million person-hours without a recordable injury.

brad eberhardt Celebrates 30 Years at Hoffman

This month, we are proud to recognize Brad Eberhardt for reaching an incredible milestone of 30 years with Hoffman Construction.

Brad’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence have played an important role in Hoffman’s success over the years.

Congratulations, Brad, and thank you for your many contributions to the company.

Project Updates

Brackett, WI

The Brackett project continues to make steady progress as crews move through pipe installation, crushing operations, and grading activities. Work remains on schedule, with the team continuing to build momentum while preparing the site for the next phases of construction.

Thank you to everyone on the project for their continued hard work and commitment to keeping the job moving forward safely.

North Oaks, MN

The North Oaks project continues to make steady progress as crews advance work on several key improvements along the I-35E corridor. Since construction resumed this spring, Hoffman has completed reconstruction of the northbound off-ramp, constructed the new northbound on-ramp, and continued work on the new southbound off-ramp, County Road J, and the future roundabouts at Otter Lake Road and 20th Avenue.

In early July, Otter Lake Road will temporarily close to allow crews to complete tie-in work on the new roundabout. Concrete paving is scheduled for late July, with traffic expected to shift onto the new bridge by mid-August. Once traffic is moved, demolition of the existing bridge will begin as the project continues toward its completion at the end of October.

Jordan, MN

Construction continues to make strong progress on the Jordan Interchange project as Hoffman crews advance several key phases of work along the Highway 169 corridor. A major milestone was recently reached with the successful completion of the project’s complex stream diversion, allowing crews to begin work on the future roundabout interchange.

This achievement required extensive planning and coordination to safely manage both groundwater and nearby environmental features. Crews also continue moving earth, grading the site, and supporting ongoing bridge construction. Once complete, the new interchange will improve safety, enhance traffic flow, and eliminate the final traffic signal along a 75-mile stretch of Highway 169, providing long-term benefits for both the Jordan community and the traveling public.

Wayzata, MN – Hwy 12

The Wayzata project continues to make excellent progress as Hoffman crews near completion of Stage 2. To date, the team has installed more than 7,000 linear feet of pipe, moved 80,000 cubic yards of earth, and placed 50,000 cubic yards of sand and gravel. Following the Fourth of July holiday, concrete pavement placement will begin as the project reaches another major milestone.

Crews are also shifting their focus to constructing ADA improvements along side roads and frontage roads, along with seven infiltration ponds, while preparing for the upcoming traffic switch to the eastbound lanes. Although there is still challenging work ahead, the project is off to a strong start thanks to the continued dedication of everyone on site.

Lone Rock Bridge Project Recognized for Innovation

Daily Reporter Article // May 8, 2026
The WIS 130 Lone Rock Wisconsin River Bridges project replaced three structurally deficient, 80-plus-year-old steel truss bridges with two prestressed, multi-span concrete girder bridges spanning approximately 1,000 feet each over both channels of the Wisconsin River south of Lone Rock, Wis. Delivered as WisDOT’s first design-build initiative, the project saved the state more than $2.5 million in upfront costs and two years on its program schedule.

Construction presented extraordinary challenges. The north bridge required cofferdam rings at two piers due to shallow rock, while the south abutment demanded an elaborate temporary shoring system with tiebacks, pre-boring into rock and a six-stage backfilling sequence—among the most complex substructure work many involved had encountered in their careers.
Environmental constraints governing bats, frogs, mussels, hawks and swallows required strict construction windows throughout.

Through multiple Alternate Technical Concepts, the design-build team eliminated 15 piers across both structures, generating more than $2.3 million in cost savings. The team also realigned a dangerous T-intersection with a long history of deadly crashes and opened the full project five weeks ahead of the contract milestone date.

The $37.1 million project concluded with construction of an interpretive exhibit commemorating the history of the old bridges and the Lone Rock geological formation.
