MID-SEASON CHECK IN WITH CHRIS GOSS

Hey Hoffman Team!

We’re off to a strong start this season. Sure, there have been a few rain events we could’ve done without, but despite the weather, we’ve completed 35% more work this year than at the same time last year. That’s a true testament

President Chris Goss Standing in Parking Lot infront of Hoffman Construction Headquarters

to the hard work and dedication each of you brings every day.  THANK YOU!

Our backlog is looking great, and we’re adding more. Last week, we were the apparent low bidder on a project in North Oaks, MN, for Ramsey County. This job is expected to start in July 2025, pause for winter, and carry into 2026. We look forward to working with Ramsey County and delivering another successful and SAFE project on time.

Coming soon: our Hoffman orientation video featuring the Badge of Courage program. The Badge of Courage recognizes those who have the courage to speak up, take action, and keep safety as their highest priority. We’re excited to roll this out in the coming weeks. If you know someone who deserves the Badge of Courage, speak up and let us know.

Let’s keep celebrating our continued safe and successful project execution.

PROJECT UPDATES

CHASKA, MN - CSAH 10

The Hoffman team in Chaska has made impressive strides on the CSAH 10 project. Phase one is complete, including a new turbo roundabout at Bavaria Road and resurfacing between Victoria Drive and US Route 212.

Crews are now deep into phases two and three, building a second turbo roundabout at White Oak Drive and a double-lane roundabout at TH41.

The scope also includes major underground work: storm and subsurface drains, box culverts, retaining walls, water main installation, and nearly 40,000 cubic yards of excavation.

The team is pushing to complete this phase before school resumes August 30, with full project completion targeted for November 2025.

Thank you to our crews and subcontractors for your continued focus, skill, and drive to deliver excellence on this critical corridor!

JORDAN, MN - TH 169

Work is underway on a major multi-year project in Jordan to improve safety and traffic flow at Hwy 169 and Hwy 282/Co. Rd. 9. The project includes building a new interchange with two bridges, two roundabouts, a pedestrian tunnel, sidewalks, retaining walls, and noise walls.

Currently, Hwy 169 is down to one lane in each direction, and several local roads are closed or detoured. The end goal is a safer, more efficient interchange with improved pedestrian access and reduced congestion. Construction will continue in stages through 2027.

BEAVER DAM, WI - SITE PREPARATION

Excavator and Dumptruck Moving Dirt in Beaver Dam

Hoffman crews have moved about 850,000 CY of material, with Building Pad 1 prepped for underground electrical and deep foundation work. Building Pad 2 fill is nearing completion and should wrap up in early July.

Earthwork continues across the site, with the team moving 20,000–30,000 CY per day, weather permitting. SX blasting runs twice daily, crushing is underway, and utility installs are progressing steadily.

By mid-July, both building pads should be at subgrade as the team shifts focus to roads, buildings, and final grading. Great job to everyone keeping this project rolling!

The team is making solid progress on-site, placing select granular sub-base and wrapping up storm sewer installation early next week. Curb and gutter work is set to kick off on the 3rd. When finished, this project will bring a safer, more efficient roundabout with better sightlines, new storm sewer and drainage pond, improved lighting for nighttime travel, and connected bike trails for safer pedestrian access. Great work, crew!

IXONIA, WI - CH 16

The project is progressing steadily, with more than 35% completed. Significant milestones include completing the Rock River Bridge re-decking in April and successfully installing a 300-foot-long, 18-foot-deep culvert pipe in May. Over three miles of roadway are prepped for asphalt paving scheduled for July 8.

Current work includes concrete removal, grading, geogrid, and aggregate placement along the STH 16 mainline, moving west from Hustisford Road. The future roundabout location at Oak Hill Road has been stripped and is ready for grading.

Once complete, the project will feature a new concrete roundabout in Watertown for improved safety and traffic flow, plus eight miles of fresh asphalt connecting Watertown to Ixonia.

Introducing the “BADGE OF COURAGE” Safety Initiative

At Hoffman Construction, safety is more than a standard. It is a shared commitment that guides how we work, support one another, and protect each person who steps on site. The Badge of Courage program is a new initiative that highlights and celebrates that responsibility.

The program is built around one principle:

Badge of Courage Logo, "Built on Safety" Badge of Courage

it takes courage to put safety first. Whether that means stopping work to prevent a potential incident, speaking up when something feels off, or raising a concern to a supervisor, these actions make a real impact.

To earn the Badge of Courage, employees agree to the following:

  • I have the courage to speak up and stop work if I see something unsafe.
  • I have the courage to stop work on the job or at home if conditions are unsafe.
  • I have the courage to talk to my supervisor about safety concerns without fear of repercussions.
  • I have the courage to put safety first, above all else.

Those who make the pledge receive a Badge of Courage certificate, a badge to wear on their safety vest, and a hard hat sticker. These items are a visible reminder of their commitment and the culture of safety we continue to strengthen.

At Hoffman, we support our people in always doing what is right and safe.

This program is one more way we reinforce that commitment and recognize the courage it takes to lead with safety!

Cheers to Will & Sam!

Onboarding Video Captures Hoffman Culture

Hoffman Construction recently filmed an onboarding video designed to give new employees a clear picture of what to expect on their first day and to reflect the culture that sets us apart. To capture a well-rounded view of life at Hoffman, filming took place at our headquarters and shop, as well as at two of our active job sites—Brackett and Ixonia.

Across both field locations, our teams demonstrated the coordination, communication, and commitment to safety that define our approach to every project.

Morning huddles, real-time teamwork, and on-the-ground operations provided a powerful glimpse into how our crews support one another and get the job done safely and efficiently.

Filming at HQ highlighted our day-to-day operations in the office and shop. We captured the behind-the-scenes work that keeps projects running—equipment prep, coordination, and support tasks that are just as critical to our success as what happens in the field.

Our marketing crew from Walker Media Agency spent the day with us filming and shared how impressed they were by the pride our crew takes in their work and the strong sense of connection they observed—qualities that define how we operate.

The final video will be a helpful resource for introducing new hires to Hoffman the right way—on the ground, where the work gets done.

Thank you to everyone involved!
