PROJECT UPDATES
Lone Rock Open to Traffic!
Although Hoffman Construction has wrapped up its portion of the project, work continues on the next phase, which involves the demolition of the old bridges and the removal of the former STH 130 roadway. Upcoming efforts include removing the old WIS 130/133 roadway embankment and transporting the material to the north staging area across from Brace Memorial Park to be used as fill for the final slope. Additionally, the causeway in the south river channel is being finished to allow access for bridge removal, and crews are set to begin sawing and removing the concrete deck from the old south bridge next week.
We are proud of our contributions to this project and look forward to seeing the final stages come together. Stay tuned for further updates as the work continues!

Crew Appreciation Lunch
Washburn
We’re proud to report that the Washburn project has reached a significant milestone, with all concrete paving completed as of October 15. The crew worked hand in hand with the city contractor throughout the summer, coordinating with water and sewer installation to keep everything on track. The project looks excellent and remains on schedule for an on-time completion. Hats off to the entire crew for a job well done and for embodying the quality and precision that Hoffman Construction is known for.
Spooner & Haugen
The Spooner and Haugen crews joined forces for a well-deserved appreciation lunch at Summers on Long, a BBQ spot on Long Lake that’s conveniently located between both project sites. This was a chance for management and safety to recognize the crews for their long hours, hard work, and seamless coordination between the two jobs. The teamwork these crews have demonstrated—whether sharing equipment or manpower—has been vital to staying on schedule. We enjoyed reminiscing about past projects, swapping stories about hunting and fishing, and celebrating the season’s successes. The safety team also brought some Hoffman swag and recognized the crews for their excellent safety performance, with no incidents to report.
Milestones:
Spooner: Traffic was split last Friday, October 11, to open the new roadways. The crew is now focused on installing pipe in the median and removing the temporary crossovers. Concrete and asphalt paving are 99% complete, and we’re on track for a timely completion by November 1. Coordination with subs will be critical in the coming weeks, but the team’s hard work and focus on safety have kept us moving forward smoothly.
Haugen: Concrete paving wrapped up on October 11, with asphalt paving set to finish by October 23. Traffic will be split onto the new roadway by Friday, October 25. The crew is now working on removing crossovers and installing median pipe, and we’re on track to complete the project by November 15. The Haugen crew has done an outstanding job keeping operations moving and equipment running efficiently. Like Spooner, this project will require careful coordination in the final weeks, but we’re confident in the team’s ability to finish strong.
A big thank you to both crews for their incredible efforts, teamwork, and dedication to keeping these projects on
schedule and safe. Great work, everyone!
