BDW Project Update: Celebrating Major Milestones and Safely Reaching 2 Million Hours!
Site civil work at BDW began on April 1, 2025, and is on track to be completed in late fall 2026. Transforming this 700+ acre site is a massive undertaking, with over 300 acres of active disturbance.

To date, our teams have successfully managed:

  • 3.5 million cubic yards of earthwork
  • Nearly 1.0 million tons of aggregates
  • 660,000 cubic yards of rock excavation
  • 863,000 tons of on-site crushing
  • 110,000 linear feet of storm, sanitary, and watermain piping
  • 525 sanitary and storm sewer structures installed
Water management on the site is equally massive, featuring two shallow wetland ponds and eight stormwater ponds. Together, these cover over 30 acres of surface area and provide more than 48 million gallons of stormwater storage capacity.

Supporting Our Partners & Nearing the Finish Line

Hoffman crews have played a vital role in keeping the entire site moving, supporting eight separate trade partners by managing all on-site excavation and backfilling operations—from temporary electrical setups to telecom trenching.

Currently, our crews are busy finishing the curb, sidewalk, and paving work, as well as completing topsoil, shouldering, and supporting trade partners with site lighting and conduit installation. Additionally, infrastructure upgrades are nearing completion, including the CTH A turn lanes, bypass lane, and USH 151 off-ramp expansions.

Safety First: A Culture Second to None

Most importantly, our crews and trade partners have reached an incredible milestone: accumulating more than 2 million work hours and counting without an OSHA- recordable incident.

In civil construction, this is a monumental achievement that deserves to be celebrated by everyone on the project. It sets a phenomenal benchmark for all future work.

More than 200 Hoffman employees have lent their hands and expertise to deliver this unique and challenging project. Thank you to each of you—and to your families—for your hard work, relentless focus on SAFETY, dedication, and positive attitude. You have truly built a project culture that is second to none!
