Landfill Construction

Hoffman Construction specializes in comprehensive landfill construction, delivering precision, efficiency, and reliability at every stage of the project.

A typical landfill is constructed in cells, each featuring a compacted clay liner placed over the native soil base, positioned at least three feet above the water table. On top of the clay liner, a leachate collection system is installed, followed by a geosynthetic liner to stabilize waste. A graded permeable sand or gravel layer is added to facilitate proper liquid drainage, directing liquids into the leachate collection system.

With extensive experience, skilled labor, and a modern fleet of equipment, Hoffman Construction can efficiently handle all phases of landfill construction, including:

  • New Construction
  • Erosion Control
  • Geotextile Installation
  • Maintenance of Existing Sites
  • Industrial Landfills
  • Groundwater Control
  • Clay Cell and Cap Installation
  • Stormwater Drainage
  • Mining Waste Management
  • Containment Dikes
